I imported an STL model with the control surfaces colored differently into Blender. I used boxes with displaced edges to match the elevon outlines and then intersected / subtracted, resulting in three STL files: the spaceplane body with the elevons removed, the

FlightGear uses a quasi-obsolete format for its 3d models called AC3D. The wiki says you can export materials and textures from Blender into this format, but I had issues with textures. In the end I found it easier to edit the AC3D
This is the second part of a blog chronicling the development of a FlightGear simulator model for the Open Source Space Plane. Animating retractable landing gear , control surfaces, etc, involves linking a 3D object movement to a flight model variable.
This devlog will detail a Space Plane FlightGear model I am working on for The Space Plane Corporation. FlightGear is an open-source flight simulator that has been around for quite some time, developed and maintained by a team of volunteers. The Space
